It's crucial that you are aware of what to anticipate as your studies commence.

Examine the resources available to you and familiarize yourself with the experience of studying with us.

Commencing your studies at LOU

Approximately two weeks before your scheduled start date, the module website will become accessible.

There, you will be able to access:

  • A study planner organized week by week.
  • The assessment segment, detailing the tasks for each assignment and their respective deadlines.
  • The system for scheduling tutorials, the virtual tutorial room, and contact information for your tutor.
  • Forums within the module where you can engage in discussions with fellow students, collaborate on assignments, and seek additional assistance if needed.
  • All available formats of your module materials and resources, including online, PDF, and accessible versions.

While your study planner will include most key dates for your module, you may need to wait a bit longer for any residential school or exam dates. However, rest assured that we will provide you with this information well in advance.

Should your module include printed materials, these will be dispatched to you prior to the start of the module.

Engaging in your module

Your study approach will either be fully online or a blend of online and printed module materials.

In case you have specific needs, we provide materials in alternative formats. We'll request you to inform us about these requirements before commencing your initial module.

The module website will be divided into study weeks, each offering a blend of reading materials, videos/recordings, and interactive activities. You can study wherever you have an internet connection.
