Application process

Your L.O.U journey is unique and will be personalized to you. This starts the day you get in touch with us and continues through graduation—and beyond. You’ll have a dedicated enrollment advisor to guide you and your family through the application process. They’ll advise you on finances, scholarships, campus locations, and how to apply. You’ll also have a visa coordinator who’ll work closely with you to ensure your safe arrival to campus. Entry Requirements

UTME

The minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in five subjects at O’Level in nationally recognised examination including English Language and Mathematics (where specified) at not more than two sittings. Candidates studying sciences and arts subjects must obtain credit level passes in those subjects.

DIRECT ENTRY (DE)

To qualify for Direct Entry, candidates must have NCE or OND with at least merit pass in their art subjects’ combination plus Five (5) credits including English Language at O’level.

PHILOSPHY

The Department of Education is aimed at achieving the goals and objectives of the National Policy on Education. The national philosophy is in turn based on the following general aspirations of Nigeria as contained in Section 1 Paragraph 3 of the National Policy on Education:

  1. Exhibit the knowledge, skills and attitudes which will enable them to contribute to the growth and development of their communities in particular and their nation in general;
  2. Be able to exhibit sound mastery of their subject areas and the ability to impart such knowledge to their students;
  3. Internalize the intellectual and professional background, adequate for their alignment and to make them adaptable to any changing situation, not only in the life of their country but in the wide world;
  4. Enhance commitment to the teaching profession; and
  5. Be able to fit into the social life of the community and society at large and enhance their commitment to national objectives;
  6. apply the skills in the use of new technologies;
  7. Professionally show mastery of problem solving skills.
